Passes will be completely overhauled. First, all passes will be distributed on Connect Cards, or ConnecTix. ConnecTix will only be available as a 31 day pass. There will be no pay per ride option, nor will there be other pass options. There will be 5 pass options, all of which can be added from funds on the card. Under PAT, passes are only available in a calendar period (such as Sunday-Saturday for weekly). Under ACTA, passes will be for a number of days. The options and costs are as follows:

  • 3 day = base×5
  • 7 day = base×10
  • 15 day = base×20
  • 31 day = base×40
  • 366 day = base×375

One might ask why a 15 day pass, and why no savings in comparison to a 7 day pass. The answer is simple. Most people that works in Allegheny County are paid bi-weekly (every 2 weeks). This allows them to acquire a 15 day pass for the price of 2 7 day passes, and therefore helps ease the burden that a 7 or 31 day pass might cause.

Base fare is $2.50 or $1.25 for Children/Disabled Adults. Under the ACTA Plan, disabled adults will turn in their current pass/connect card with photo ID for a new pass with their photo on it. Older Disabled Connect Cards will still function, but will not support passes. New or replacement cards will be the new issued cards.
